Aarg, exam week is killing my brain... but on the upside, the semester is almost over and I'll be going home soon. This is both good and bad, because this fall my life is changing forever.

Some of you have heard and some of you haven't, so I'll go ahead and make it official now. I'm a Japanese major, hoping to go into translation work once I graduate. This fall, I'll be living in Japan for four months, teaching English on an internship. I'll be leaving sometime in late August or early September, and returning the first week in January after I spend New Years in Japan.

For those of you that actually know something about the geography of Japan, I'll be down on the southern island of Kyuushu, in Kumamoto prefecture, in a city called Yatsushiro. I'll have my own apartment in the same building as the school, and I'll be on my own as far as groceries and stuff. They'll be paying me a stipend to help take care of that, though.

I can't wait to go. I've been studying the language for two years, this is the first chance I'll really have to see if I have what it takes. I'm soooo excited. Though I know once it gets closer to time for me to leave, excitement will probably turn to panic. XD

Anyway, just thought I'd let everyone know. In related news, I'm starting a webcomic here on DA. It'll be semi-autobiographical, about an American girl on her own in Japan. I'll take material from my own experiences, as well as other ideas I have. It's called Gaijin: One Foreigner Lost in the Land of Pocky. I won't have any set update schedule, just whenever I get time to draw strips.
